Lauren Moose
Morgan and Lauren are a potluck (random) roommate success story. After being assigned to each other for freshman year at Calvin University, the two bonded instantly over a shared love for Parks and Recreation. During college they grew close & spent a lot of time together. It was during this year that Lauren gave Morgan her nickname, Merg. The two remained close post college as well with similar evolving worldviews & weekly calls. Lauren is the most supportive person Morgan knows and makes the best hypewoman.
Jack Hamel
Anthony and Jack grew up together and became close in High School, along with Mitchell they were inseparable. They played hockey, worked through school projects and played board games. As adults, Jack and Anthony have grown even closer. After Morgan and Anthony moved to Colorado, they often traveled between Albuquerque and Colorado. Anthony officiated Jack and his wife Caroline’s wedding last summer and they continue to mountain bike, take trips and remain very close.
Shelby Buis
Shelby is Morgan’s favorite younger sister. Their journey began as roommates in their childhood home, until Morgan got her own room by claiming “Shelby talks too much”. Now though, they love to talk. During high school the two got closer watching Keeping up with the Kardashians, and even closer during college. They share many of the same opinions and there are always good vibes when the two are together.
Mitchell Bushnell
Mitchell (Shrub) and Anthony go as far back as t-ball in elementary school, but the two really kicked off their friendship in highschool. Together with Jack, the three were inseparable during those years. Between Anthony beating him at Starcraft, playing hockey, guitar hero in the basement or the three watching Game of Thrones each week, Mitchell has always been there to talk to. They continue to keep up and remain close.
Taylor Amarillo
Taylor is Morgan’s favorite older sister. They grew closer while Taylor was in high school and Morgan was finishing middle school by DVR-ing America’s Next Top Model and watching Parks and Rec, The Office, Community, Arrested Development, and 30 Rock. After Highschool, Taylor moved to the Dominican Republic to teach, where Morgan was able to visit her on multiple occasions. They’ve always bonded over a shared taste in comedy.
Nathan Buis
Nate is Morgan’s favorite brother and Anthony’s soon-to-be. From the time they met, Nate has welcomed Anthony into the family with open arms, always setting the stage with contagious positivity and an eagerness to be active. Whether it’s basketball, soccer or cards Nate spreads energy and positivity whenever he’s around.
Alison Cronander
Ally and Morgan met by complete chance during Anthony and Morgan’s first date. After biking, Anthony and Morgan went to a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant where Ally also happened to be eating. It seemed like fate to be meeting family on the first date. In 2022, Ally and her boyfriend Ben moved to Colorado, just a few months prior to Anthony and Morgan. During their time out west, the two have grown closer and love sharing adventures. Ally even helped Morgan propose back to Anthony in Boulder.
Brad Doane
Brad and Anthony began their friendship in middle school. With a shared sense of humor, the two spent summers biking downtown Goodrich and drinking Arnold Palmer Arizona teas. During this time the two began playing soccer together, which they did through their high school years. As adults, Brad is one of the easiest friends to plan with and the two have made great memories. Whether it’s bar hopping in Royal Oak or winter sports, they've remained close and continue to have fun.
Annika Hubbard
Anni is Anthony’s second youngest sister and has always been extra welcoming to Morgan, from the very start. She ensures Morgan feels included in all the family activities & events (and there are many). Anni's fiance Gavin lives in Colorado Springs so Anni visits Colorado often and sees Morgan and Anthony. They’ve been able to enjoy multiple ski trips, good food, and good wine together.
Thomas Bowers
Tom and Anthony go back as far as the Goodrich bus routes go. The two have remained on the same wavelength since then and to this day share the same sense of humor. They’ve shared traditions like Snowsnake and filled many nights with great laughs. Now, as adults they’ve been able to remain close and make some awesome memories enjoying the Michigan summers at Tom’s family cabin. Tom is one of Anthony’s oldest friends.
Anabelle Cronander
A few weeks after Anthony & Morgan began dating, Morgan met Anthony’s family for dinner & Anthony’s youngest sister Anabelle was in attendance. Anabelle is 9 years younger than Anthony but Morgan could tell she was very mature & keeping up with all her older siblings. Recently, Anabelle visited Anthony & Morgan in Colorado, enjoying rock climbing, hiking & exploring the city!
Alex Bader
Alex is one of Anthony’s oldest friends. Growing up they got close during early high school and middle school, whether it was playing games together, producing beats on an old laptop, planning ways to create cool weapons with trees in the backyard or watching Donald Glover standup. Without Alex, Anthony may not have gotten through calculus so easily. Now with Alex in Texas and Anthony in Colorado, the two have been able to stay in touch over Discord and remain close.
Caroline Lesch
A month after Anthony and Morgan met, Caroline and Morgan met each other in 2021. After Anthony had talked so much of Jack and how excited he was for her to meet Caroline, the two met when they visited Morgan’s apartment in Lansing for a game night. The two quickly bonded over a shared love for Taylor Swift, cats and Harry Potter. Their friendship grew through trips (The Eras Tour, Harry Potter World, Albuquerque and more) and the two have grown closer since, now living just a couple miles apart!
Nick Davis
Nick and Anthony began their friendship in middle school, just before Nick moved out of state. Once he returned, the two continued on as if he hadn’t left. Nick was always someone with great ideas and making great jokes. Many long nights of gaming, some camping and watching YouTube later, the two have remained close and continue to keep up, even spending time as adults trying to come up with cool projects and things to host. Nick has always been someone Anthony can lean on to talk about anything.
Jamie Whitten
Morgan and Jamie met during their freshman year at Calvin University. The two of them were both a bit shy but Lauren played friendship matchmaker with them. Morgan and Jamie soon discovered they shared the same sense of humor and quirky interests. The next year they became roommates, then housemates the following 2 years as well. Jamie always makes Morgan laugh. They’ve recently visited each other in both NYC where Jamie lives and then in Colorado where Morgan lives.
Chris Ossowski
Chris is Anthony’s cousin and the two grew up together from the time they were born. With Chris moving around often and now finally settling in Detroit, Anthony and he have been able to grow closer, relating to each other through music, art and gaming. There are many cherished memories the two share, from huddling around a gameboy playing old games, times spent at the West Branch house and playing with fireworks on the fourth of July. Chris has always always meant a lot to Anthony as both a cousin and a friend.
Lydia Abma
Morgan and Lydia met during their first year at Calvin. They grew close and eventually became housemates junior & senior year. Morgan’s favorite Friday night tradition was when they would go rock climbing and then watch a movie. Post college, they have remained close, being pen pals, meeting up when they are both in Michigan, having phone calls, and Lydia even came to visit Morgan in Colorado last year. When they get on the phone, it’s as if no time has passed at all & they often talk much longer than they plan on.
Spencer Everhart
Spencer and Anthony became close in High School. Spencer is one of the funniest people he knows and always makes board game night fun, the two have kept up since. During 2020, Anthony moved back to Michigan for a while and shared an apartment with Spencer and another friend. That was an extremely fun year. Between learning master cooking skills from Spencer, playing games late into the night or watching niche movies, Spencer is one of Anthony’s most trusted friends.
Tim Sorrels
Anthony and Tim met while Tim was searching for a place to live in Ann Arbor during college. After some awkward chatting about the details of the room available, the two very quickly hit it off talking about Rocket League and other games. After that, Tim moved in with Anthony and they quickly became close. Whether it was studying, going out, enjoying music or gaming Tim was always someone Anthony could trust. Since college the two have kept up and continue to make memories together.
Sarah Chu
Sarah and Morgan met in 9th grade and grew close over their shared taste in music, tv and movies. They went to separate colleges & caught up from time to time. Their friendship grew during 2019 after they graduated college and became roommates in Lansing, MI. They’d visit the gym together, cook, watch storms and stay up late talking about life. During the pandemic, Sarah’s husband Phil moved in and this made the pandemic feel even less lonely. Sarah and Phil now live in Texas, but her and Morgan remain close.
